The exhibition included work inspired by the Shropshire countryside and by a recent journey through France and Italy.
The journey, taken by car, began on 30 March 1992 and took the artists through Western France - Saumur, Limoges, Cahors, along the Mediterranean coast to Genoa and Florence and on to Umbria and Assisi. The return journey took them along the eastern side of France.
Ann Arnold commented that the stimulus for the exhibition was a combination of th excitement of the journey and the serenity of home. |
